On Saturday, June 15th, we celebrated the grand opening of Modern Martial Arts and Fitness! We were absolutely blown away by the support we received from not only the great city of Pasadena, but from the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts communities as well! People made the trip from all over Southern California to wish us well and help us celebrate. We even had an unexpected visit from MMA legend, Art Jimmerson, who famously fought Royce Gracie at UFC 1!
The grand opening celebration featured a No-Gi Jiu Jitsu seminar specifically focused on escapes and attacks from the bottom mount position. Head coach, Justen Hamilton, took the class through his system of attacks from what is typically considered a strictly defensive position and left them looking at the bottom mount position in a whole new light. You can see a short highlight of the seminar below!
If you are looking for a place in Pasadena, California to train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, No-Gi Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, Wrestling, or MMA, please contact us to book your free trial appointment! Special thanks to Raf Esparza and The Grappling Hour for the video, and additional thanks to everyone who attended the grand opening and made it so special! See you on the mats!
