Justen Hamilton | Modern Martial Arts and Fitness

Justen Hamilton is the owner and head coach of Modern Martial Arts and Fitness. He is a former Jiu-Jitsu and MMA competitor with over 20 years of experience in martial arts and a passion for coaching others to success. He has coached competitors to championship titles in both Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA, and has experience coaching at the elite professional level, including in the premier Asian MMA promotion, ONE Championship. He is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Dane Molina and Mike Farrell, and was a frequent visitor of the famous "blue basement" at Renzo Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy in New York City under the tutelage of John Danaher.

Justen has spent years developing his teaching skills, not only within the martial arts academy, but also at the University of California-Riverside, where he recently earned a Ph.D. in sociology. He has published original research on the sport of MMA and has sought to use his academic experience and expertise to make martial arts training more inclusive and accessible to others. While always eager to help competitors prepare for competition, his true passion lies in introducing new students to martial arts training and watching the positive impact it has on their lives.
